Gunn Collision: The Collision Repair Process

ESTIMATE- A written assessment of vehicle damage which includes an estimated repair time and an appraisal of the cost of repairs. The original estimate does not include an appraisal of hidden damage (see Re-inspections, below) which may require supplements from insurance company responsible for payment of repair. Weekends and holidays are not included in estimated repair time.

  14. Vehicle Aligned on Unibody Repair Equipment
  15. Required Body Panels Repaired and/or Installed
  16. Priming, Sealing and Corrosion Protection
  17. Mech/Align/AC, Suspension All Checked-Tested
  18. All Work Inspected, Tested Ready for Painting
  19. Customer Updated of Paint Schedule
  20. Vehicle Pressure Washed/Chemically Cleaned & Prepared
  21. Vehicle Prepped, Primed, Blocked & Sealed
  22. Vehicle Taped, Bagged, Readied for Spray Booth. All Chrome Door Handles, Bumper Covers, Stripes, Etc. are Removed From the Vehicle to Assure the Paint Job is Completed Up to Factory Specifications.
  23. Vehicle Refinished to Factory Specs with Dupont Paint Products.
  24. Reassembly
  25. Detail/Make Ready Stripes/Trim Pre-Inspection/Testing
  26. Final Quality Inspection Drive
  27. Customer Notified

This outlines the general repair process. Not all procedures may be necessary to repair all vehicles. Please consult your Estimator for the specific repair process for your vehicle. Quality repair can be time-consuming. Occasional circumstances beyond our control, such as unfavorable weather, unavailable parts, or insurance re-inspections may cause delays in repair. If any delay should arise, you will be notified by telephone and updated on the status of your repair.
